If my guess is correct, this may be 1 of a batch of plants obtained by crossing two plants of P. violacea that are said to be from the Malayan Peninsula but who knows ... Currently, most wild P. violacea plants are from the island of Sumatra and they are typically more brilliant-coloured (i.e. more red) than those wild P. violacea plants from Malaya. Sad to say, it is very difficult to find another wild P. violacea plant from the jungles of Malaya.
