I totally agree with Sophie's explanation. I have wrongly decapitated a New Mexico thinking that it has mites. When you get mites, the leaves don't just curl up.... they become very hairy with brown or yellowish discoloration and the hair are messy. In cold weather, the hair becomes longer too, but not messy. Actually this site has lots of functions and some of the old posts are pretty good. I like to just browse through them their lots of people talking about mites with pictures somewhere. Don't be lazy.
