Forida experienced many hurricanes this year, but your plants still looks great [/quote] Orchidboy: Where I'm at  did get hit with 2 hurricanes thanks for your concern.  To share with you how I take care of them, I had to bring them all in (what a nightmare!) the house and after 1 week in the dry condition in the house,  I've to soak them in the bath tub before I took them out  again.   I only had to repeat this procedure twice this year.  I'll pray we don't have any in the future.    But I hate to think when winter comes, it might get cold some day.  I'll have to do it again? [/quote] Glenda, I live in Edmonton, Alberta. It is cold here and I can not leave my orchids outdoor even in the summer, except some native species. Right now my backyard is covered with several inches of snow and it won't melt untill next May or June. [/quote] You can plants them in windowside indoor.Actually some vandaceous plants are quite cold resistent. Cold place has many wonderful orchids too, such as cypripedium, orchis, pleione. [/quote] hi Glenda, Your Trichocentrum capistratum grows well!! where did you get this? Plant shape like this is a typical hot to warm grower. [/quote] hello buddy, I got it locally from a small orchid show.  thanks for ur advise.   I've never repot it, maybe next spring.  I'm not worry about over water this one, as it dry out quickly in florida's summer.  You think it might grow better on a tree fern?  I wonder if I can just attach it on a small size tree fern, don't even fuss with moss.  Lazy is my name.  :em06:
