I think a rather popular cultivar known as "Hawthor White" (or something like that) can be obtained from specialty bulb nurseries in the USA. -- 作者： Alfredo -- 發表時間： 2003/09/13 11:10pm Hi , DJL & charlot , Ha...... as charlot knows me well that I did not grow bulbs from SA.   Actually , it was always a mission impossible for me to get the place for the bulbs in Taipei city.   Miniture orchids is my favorite because you can even hang it out of the windows ...... :-) I would like to share what I found from the species name "belladonna".   This should be a compound , consisting of "bella" & "donna".   It means the "beautiful lady".   Therefore I suppose "naked lady" that charlot called it can not match the original.  :-) Again , thanks for sharing the fantastic subject.  I like it a lot. DJL -- 作者： DJL -- 發表時間： 2003/09/14 02:06pm Dear Alfredo: It occurs to me that growers in Taiwan also face the problem of having insufficient space for cultivation of plants.  Miniature orchids are a great idea for small space.  However, there are lots of miniature bulbs, some of species of such genera as Crinum, Hymenocallis and Cyrtanthus are evergreen and remain attractive for their foliage alone.
